Thursday maori art
Today was Kapa Haka so I did some art with koru. A koru represents a growing fern or a dying fern. My art represents my mum and dad and my love for them.

Book Review
The Island of Lost Horses
Reviewed by Meg Wells
Author: Stacy Gregg
The Island of Lost Horses is a hooking book for people who love horses, adventure and suspense.
Two girls separated by time connected by their love of horses. When Phillipa is at the royal court she is chosen to deliver a message to an old friend. Little did she know this would lead to more of an adventure than Phillipa had ever imagined…
***
Beatriz is bored staying in the yacht, her mum is busy with work, surely she wouldn’t know if she went to the island they were anchored at? Then came the sound of hoofbeats and whinnying…
These girls have adventures and heartfelt moments like no other girls have had.
I would recommend this book to ages 10-14, and would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Tekapo
I believe Tekapo is a wonderful relaxing place to spend any holiday. Are you going on a holiday soon? Well Tekapo is the place to be!
In Tekapo you can capture some truly majestic photos. You wake up to snow capped mountains standing out against a crisp, clear lake and blue skies. Frost settles over the hills and gives you a warm happy feeling inside, the best part is lying in the comfort of a warm bed in a modern house.
If you are someone who likes relaxing or if you like getting out and about, then Tekapo is a place you would enjoy. There are relaxing hot pools, invigorating snow tubing (snow tubing is where there is a big long slide of frozen snow and you have a go down the snow slide in a biscuiting tube) or social ice skating. There are sunny rooms for lounging about or reading a good book. So if you are thinking about going somewhere for a holiday you should go to Tekapo!
Do you love the sound of silence? Tekapo would be your dream holiday location! Each house is more than 1 kilometer apart so you don't have to worry about noisy neighbours or distractions. Tekapo will give you the holiday you need.
Tekapo is a place to unwind, to have an enjoyable time, take memorable photos or to work on something without distraction. So go on, take the holiday you deserve!

Everyone should ride horses instead of driving cars
In my opinion everyone should get around astride horses instead of slouching around in cars. The horse has many more advantages than your lump of metal!
Horse Options
Horses don't crash like cars do. one of the many advantages of riding horses is you can choose a horse you love. Horses have personalities just like you or me so you could choose a horse with a personality that suits you. For example, if you liked colourful things you could get a paint or if you were a dull person you could choose a dull horse. Cars do pretty much the same thing as horses you can choose different colours but not different personalities.Environment
Have you heard about all the oil spills? Or maybe about the terrible smells of petrol? Well, if you rode horses the O-zone wouldn't melt away like butter because of all the petrol, bad gasses and oil spills. Best of all some petrol stations could be turned into houses for places like Auckland. Also you could grow fresh produce all year round.Pony Poo
Ahhh, so you were wondering what would happen to the pony poo? Well, there could be cleaners could go around the streets and pick pony poo and deliver it to your mailbox. Pony poo helps gardens grow. In England someone used pony poo to grow citric fruit in winter, so when you walked into a house there was a coat hook and a table with a bowl of oranges to show how smart or rich they were because they could grow citric fruit. So pony poo would be a big benefit to everyone! Conclusion
My three points clearly tell you that in my opinion people should all ride horses instead of driving cars because, one you can use your muscles more when you ride a horse than when you're in a car. Two you can fertilize your garden with the pony poo. Finally, the world would be a cleaner place free of bad gasses. If you were wondering if you were in a rush you could borrow a racehorse for the day to get places faster. Less horses would be sent to slaughter and there would be more space for houses. So therefore I believe horses are a better mode of trans port than cars. What do you think of it?Sunday, 14 June 2015
